Cable-car-accessed viewpoint at 2,927m looking straight down onto the Aletsch - the largest glacier in the Alps, 23km of ice snaking off toward the Jungfrau.

Access
Train to Fiesch, cable car up to Bettmeralp then Bettmerhorn. From there, hike the ridge trail past Märjelensee toward Fiescheralp for glacier views the whole way. I stopped at the viewpoint near Fiescherstalden and took the cable car down into Fiesch rather than continuing the full trail to Bettmeralp.

This isn't just a cable car ride, we hiked a real stretch of ridge line with the glacier in view the entire time. Moderate effort, well-marked trail, no technical parts. Bring a jacket, it's cold up there even in summer.
