Where I Slept

Camped past the falls, further up the trail. Can't say for sure if that's technically allowed here, it sits inside a UNESCO-protected zone, so treat it as at-your-own-risk, same as the other unofficial camping spots in this guide.

Tyler's Notes

Bus out to Weisstannen doesn't run often, plan around it or you'll be waiting a while. Late afternoon is when the light actually hits the falls, time it right. I ended up pushing further up past the arena toward Jägerichopf and found a small unmarked shelter up there, wasn't open when I got there, so I just crashed on the roof. Saw ibex wandering around in the dark and the clearest sky of the whole trip. Not part of the main hike to the arena, but worth knowing it's up there if you've got the legs for it.
